Aadhaar Card Date of Birth Change - How It Works
A date of birth mismatch is one of the most common Aadhaar issues, especially when the original enrolment was done using an approximate or declared DOB. UIDAI allows one-time correction of DOB when you submit an accepted proof such as a Birth Certificate, Passport or 10th Marksheet. If your DOB was already marked as “Verified”, further corrections require an exception handling process through the Regional Office. When You Can Update DOB Easily
- Your DOB was recorded as “Declared/Approximate” during enrolment
- You have a valid proof of date of birth
- This is your first DOB correction
When You Need Exception Handling
- You have already changed your DOB once
- Your new DOB is more than ±3 years from your existing Aadhaar DOB
- Your existing DOB is already marked “Verified”
- Your document and Aadhaar data conflict
